La Rondine

Sunday 26 July 2009 at 03:21 am I've been working with my friend Vanda in various projects, as I've mentioned several times on this blog; we're part of the Marvellous Heart Marvellous Collective together, we have a photography project called Arrête Mon Coeur, and various masterplans which too need work. Lately she has also been working on her photography portfolio, and consequently started out a series of photoshoots of, as she calls them, "girls smoking, drinking, and doing stuff". And I must say I'm very proud of her! Anyway, I've been helping out, doing make up, friendly advice and a couple of days ago I actually modeled. I was pretty scared of course but it actually turned out fine, I spent most of the time drawing so I hardly even noticed the camera!

This actually all started with a series of photos she took of my Lili, who is a total babe, extremely flexible, single, and should be a model. She looks amazing in all of them, and I must say Vanda really has a talent to work with chronically shy models. Not to mention the photos are beautiful.

Saturday 18 July 2009 at 03:40 am I wish I was one of those people who feel totally okay when a camera is pointed at them. It is quite different when I'm by myself, door shut, indulging in narcissism. It's easier to deal with my discomfort by goofing around when someone else is taking my picture, I always thought it is better to look stupid when intended!

When I don't goof around, well, I do that face, the face in the picture below. I have a thousand photos with that face. It's the "Why are you doing this to me? Why did I let you do it?" face. In a way, I am narcissistic enough to want my picture taken, but that is before I see a camera pointed at me, then I get deeply self-conscious. Really have to get over it, there is stuff I have to do. And I do want my picture taken! :P
