This is what I wore to go meet with friends and watch their play (that I was helping them with). I only took these when I returned home at night, so there wasn't enough light to take decent pictures. So, kitchen light for you!
bowler hat: alfaiataria azevedo rua lda
biker jacket: pimkie
cardigan: amsterdam
skirt as dress: tintoretto
belt: hand me down
vest: zara
tights: my mother's
granny boots: vintage, ebay
If your shoe size is a EU 36 (or UK 3, or US 4.5) I think you should get these. Because they're so hot. And cheap. My feet are too big, big big big feet. The cool shoes never fit my big feet.

Here are some of my Menswear favourites so far. I am certain that if you know me at all, I'm endlessly predictable. Nevertheless, I am completely enthralled by each and every one of these collections; and these are all the more reasons to go completely nuts on why the hell wasn't I born with a penis? And a 'fro. I always said I wanted one, and you'll see why.
I just realised that for some reason I never have Spring favourites. I only like Spring collections on very rare occasions - maybe that's why I can't dress in the summer.
Cravats? Check. Brocade? Check. Tattered Fabric? Check. Cropped pants? Check. Head covered in crap? Check x 100. This managed to gather most of my fashion obsessions in just one show. I am completely in love and Number (N)ine has probably just become my new obsession with this collection.

Lately I don't really know what to wear, it's too cold and rainy anyway so I just layer and layer and layer. I don't even know if I like this outfit, but at least I tried and wore a skirt! I'm way too lazy to wear skirts lately, besides, it's cold.
pleather jacket: pimkie
long drapey cardigan: amsterdam
4 black shirts you can't see: hand me downs
skirt: hazel
tights: gift
granny boots: ebay

I made these during my drawing class. It was the first time we were free to do whatever we wanted; except we had to use charcoal. I'm really happy about them, it's been a while since I worked with charcoal and I really really enjoyed myself! :)
So, this is when a cell phone camera comes in handy, pictures! Not excellent quality, but you get the idea.
leafs; charcoal & water
bones; charcoal & kneaded ereaser
bones; charcoal with left hand
more bones; charcoal & water
Today I spent the whole afternoon digitally painting someone else's comic, for some reason I can't really grasp why the hell it is schoolwork. Nevertheless I have to say I really, truly enjoy this course I'm taking and I'm glad I made the choice to take it. Even though it gives me a lot of free time, I feel like I am always busy - consequently neglecting this blog, my livejournal, and very often my driving lessons. By the end of the week I always feel tired, but most of all I actually feel sad, that I have to wait until tuesday before another class. Taking that in consideration, I wonder why I oversleep in the morning so often?

The internet has led me to many amazing things, but also people. One of them is Benjamoon von Schwulemann ( another one being Tzuan Wu, the friend who has introduced me to him). The minute I saw this picture, I knew I had to add him as a contact on flickr - and he hasn't disappointed me yet. Well, I know very little about this man, and to be honest I feel very shy to ask him anything directly. Besides I wouldn't really know what to ask. So I can just imagine what he's like, and what life he has had. And it's very hard not to let my imagination slip into a very theatrical road.
If you check his flickr page, you will find portraits of himself as amazing as these:
His house seems to be filled with the most fabulous stuff:
He crates beautiful detailed drawings and odd characters:
And, as if all that is not enough, he has a youtube channel where he shares the most delightful films of himself. No, not at all like all those young girls talking about themselves. Short lovely films which even my year and a half niece really enjoys. And here is he latest one:
Yesterday I heard from a friend's livejournal that Poladroid is now available for windows. This made me so excited I may have gone a little crazy - and I suspect it's not over yet. So, today I was sitting at the cafe for hours, flipping through old TUNE magazines and drawing on my journal. Then I thought, why don't I take photos of random journal pages, make them into poladroids, and then post them on FISHTANK? And so I did.
While on the subject of the bizarre, if you have a thing for the occult like I have, Mysterious People is a collection of information on people who claimed to have paranormal powers and their stories. You can also check Beyond Weird, where you'll find an extensive gallery of books, articles, images, and many other interesting time wasters, including a video of a car crash ghost in my country, Portugal, and a a test to check your psychic abilities! Apparently, I'm not psychic. Damn!
My friend David always sends me the best stuff; Next Generation Space Toilet Ready in Five Years: The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) has teamed up with engineers from the private sector to develop a next-generation space toilet, which they hope to complete within the next five years.
The website Nobody Here. I don't really know what it is, but I am completely in love with it. It's another excellent time waster, but especially fascinating. I really wish I had the patience to do something like this!
I learned about David Shringley in illustration class, when my teacher brought a book to show as an example of how good illustration isn't always about an excellent drawing. David Shringley's work isn't really about illustration, though. However, whenever you need cheering up I recommend looking at his drawings, which sometimes aren't really drawings, and I assure you they will leave a smile on your face, at least.
Cotton, baby scottish fold kitten on youtube. I have no words, it's just too endearing! Yes, I am one of those lame girly girls who like to look at kittens.

My holidays are over and today was my first day of school of the year. It was very painful to wake up early after such a long time, so I was sleepwalking the whole day. Also it was freezing, and it didn't help that I was so sleepy. Yesterday I went to the hair salon for blonder hair and a trim. I spent half of my life cutting and dying my own hair, so I think I deserve to have someone else take care of it for me for a while now. And someone who is really, really good! I'm very happy with how it turned out.
Here is my outfit for today. Excuse my sleepy face, as I said I'm not much of an early riser. I do have new oversized trousers, though, and they're awesome.
wool scarf: bershka
pleather jacket: pimkie
cardigan: tintoretto
necktie: gift
shirt: hand me down
trousers: zara
legwarmers: calzedonia
boots: frye
But this is really how I was wearing it for the whole day:
Twelve Dancing Princesses; Don't Drink! I would rather marry a gardener!
Only recently I have heard of Kay Nielsen's work, and I must say I am completely mesmerized. He was an illustrator working in the early 20th century, and has created some of the most dreamy fairy tale pictures I have ever seen. I have decided that I absolutely can't die before I can make work that is at least half as beautiful as his. Here are some more of my favourites:
Twelve Dancing Princesses; On the Way to the Dance
Old Tales from the North; The Lad in the Bear Skin and the Daughter of the King of Arabia
East o' the Sun, West o' the Moon; And He Took Her Home
East o' the Sun, West o' the Moon; I am the Virgin Mary

Here's the stuff I'm wearing now to go to the dentist and take care of one of my wisdom tooth. I just hope my face doesn't become all bloated overnight!
necktie on my head: hand me down
wool shawl: bershka
the lost boys t-shirt: ebay
blue jeans: h&m
winklepicker shoes: underground

New year, new blog. Oh, and a charming 2009 for you!
As for me, I have already decided that this year I shall take less taxis, I shall not be late, I shall read more books, among other things. I also decided to start a blog, away from livejournal, and actually keep it.
Those of you who know me on livejournal know what to expect, the others I guess will have to find out in time - mainly because I got confused when trying to specify. I know, I should work on my self promotion skills!
dapper who?
The dapperfish goes by the name of Sara, and is delighted to make your acquaintance.
